Is this the same French grape seed extract as the regular Clinical OPC?
Why is being "tannin-free" so important?
Tannins are a form of proanthocyanidin (another OPC) found in grape seeds, stems, and skin. As a result, they are found in many grape seed extracts. However, they have a high molecular weight (large size), and can't be absorbed. Clinical OPC Extra Strength provides only low-molecular weight OPCs, including a complex mixture of flavanolic monomers (catechin, epicatechin, epicatechin gallate) and flavanolic oligomers (dimers, trimers and tetramers) for higher absorbability.
