THE STUDY ABSTRACT:

Teitelbaum J, Goudie S. An Open-Label, Pilot Trial of HGR80 Red Ginseng in Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, and Post-Viral Fatigue. Pharmaceuticals. 2022; 15(1):43. Chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia (CFS/FMS) affect 2.1% of the world’s population and ~10–25% of people who have had COVID-19. Previous clinical data suggested that a unique Panax ginseng (C.A. Meyer, family Araliaceae) root extract (HRG80 Red Ginseng) often resulted in marked improvement.

We aimed to study this hydroponic form of red ginseng root, containing high levels of rare ginsenosides, for improving energy, cognition, and stamina. This open-label prospective study included participants with severe CFS/FMS who took a daily supplement of red ginseng capsules (200–400 mg) or tablets (100–200 mg) for one month. A total of 188 subject patients completed the one-month treatment trial. Of these, 60.1% rated themselves as improved, with 13.3% rating themselves as being much better. In this group, the mean composite score improved from 11.9 to 18.8 (p < 0.001), with a 67% average increase in energy, 44% average increase in overall well being, 48% average improvement in mental clarity, 58% average composite improvement in the previous three measurements (primary outcome measure), 46% average improvement in sleep, 33% average decrease in pain, and 72% average increase in stamina. Our study showed that this unique red ginseng root powder resulted in a marked improvement in people with CFS and fibromyalgia. This included the subgroup with post-viral CFS/FMS.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU

Restoring Daily Energy is an Urgent Need:

  • At least 31% of American adults suffer severe fatigue, including chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) and fibromyalgia (FMS).

  • COVID-19 can also lead to post-viral CFS, extending the exhaustion, mental fog, and disrupted sleep.

  • Factors including endocrine disruptors, prevalence of nighttime light sources and sleeplessness, low-nutrient food intake, and an accelerated pace of life are major contributing factors.

  • Supplemental red ginseng restored daily energy, mental clarity, restful sleep, and stamina to a majority of individuals in this study suffering from CFS, FMS, and post-viral fatigue.

Fatigue and a general feeling of exhaustion can affect anyone. Whether it’s due to chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), fibromyalgia (FMS), a continually overwhelming schedule, a major life event, or the result of a virus, it’s natural to simply want to feel better again, but wonder where to turn.

Fortunately, this study shows that a specific formulation of red ginseng can address the many aspects of chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, and post-viral fatigue, plus more common feelings of mental and physical sluggishness. For the 60% of study participants who saw improvements, the results were impressive—especially in four major categories: a 67% average boost in energy, a 48% average increase in mental clarity, 46% average improvement in restful sleep, and a 72% increase in stamina. All in just four weeks.

The red ginseng used in this study is carefully cultivated to concentrate its most valuable compounds, called noble ginsenosides. In fact, it contains seven times more of these compounds than conventional ginseng. Noble ginsenosides are also 17 times better absorbed than the classic ginsenosides found in most conventionally cultivated standard supplements. That advantage means this clinically studied red ginseng can be much more effective than standard varieties, too.

YOU CAN FEEL ENERGIZED AGAIN!

These results show that even individuals dealing with the most severe forms of fatigue can experience a turnaround in their symptoms. It also shows anyone suffering from low energy, mental fog, restless sleep, or a lack of focus could reap great rewards from this unique red ginseng.
