Know Your Curcumin Story

You may not realize it, but the curcumin you choose comes with a story. There’s a history of where it’s grown, how it’s harvested, processed, and the journey it takes to ultimately become a supplement on your shelf. You can enjoy the peace of mind that comes with understanding the story behind the product you choose. Here’s a guide on what to look for each step of the way.

Curcumin Comes From Turmeric
Curcumin comes from the turmeric plant, which is native to India. People often think turmeric and curcumin are the same things, but it’s like saying an apple tree and an apple are the same things! While they mistakenly site turmeric as having all the benefits, it’s the curcumin extract in the turmeric rhizome that provides the power. More on that in a moment, but first, let’s think about the turmeric plant that is producing the curcumin. Optimally, you want a plant that is grown without pesticides or chemicals. That is not the case for all turmeric harvests. As a consumer, it’s your right to know that the curcumin you choose is ethically harvested, has provided fair practices to the farmers growing the plants, and the raw curcumin is subjected to continual stringent testing.

The Absorption Dilemma
As you start to explore curcumin, you might think this is where the story ends. Look for turmeric grown without pesticides, made in an extraction plant using solar energy, and from India. That should be all you need, right? Not true! Research shows that the body doesn’t easily absorb plain turmeric or even plain standardized curcumin extracts. Curcumin blended with turmeric essential oil containing turmerones (including ar-turmerone) overcomes this challenge. This valuable addition causes the curcumin to be better absorbed, work longer, and deliver results. Not only do the turmerones enhance absorption of the curcurmin, but they also have some of the same clinical effects. Some curcumin extracts try to enhance absorption through cellulose, PVP, or polysorbate 80—or fill their products with additives. That’s not a wise choice for you or your family.

A Happy Ending
Ready for the rest of the story? There is a curcumin that uses turmeric plants grown in the right environment, has no toxic additives or synthetic enhancers, delivers active curcumin, and is clinically studied and super safe. It’s called BCM-95®. It has been the subject of over 80 published studies and is up to 700% better absorbed than plain curcumin. BCM-95 is the curcumin used in CuraMed®, Curamin®, and all the curcumin products from Terry Naturally® brand of supplements. It’s the most clinically studied, enhanced absorption curcumin available. Now you know the whole story—exactly why you can count on CuraMed to support liver, brain, heart, and immune health, protect cells from oxidative stress and free radicals.* It’s the end of your search but the beginning of exceptional health support for you and your family. Don’t you love a happy ending?
